Premiership Rugby is the organising body of the Gallagher Premiership Rugby league. We are responsible for organising the Premiership Rugby competition, the centralised broadcast rights and other commercial rights for the league.

We are also responsible for all aspects of the governance, regulation, delivery and promotion of the Premiership Rugby Cup, Premiership Rugby Shield (formerly A League), the Premiership Rugby 7s and the Under 18s competition.

Premiership Rugby is a private company, wholly owned by and responsible to its member clubs. Each of the member clubs is independent of Premiership Rugby, working within the rules of the game as laid out by World Rugby, the RFU and English law and delivering in their local communities.

Supply chain

We do not tolerate forced labour either within our business itself or within our supply chain. We expect our supply chain (whether direct suppliers or those that directly or indirectly supply our
direct suppliers) to share the same values.

We operate in England only. Our supply chains include third party suppliers of products and services for various areas of our business including commercial, broadcasting and the community game. These include, amongst others, suppliers of the following products and services:

a) Audio-visual equipment/service
b) Broadcasting services
c) Consultancy services
d) Couriers
e) Financial services
f) Operations
g) Insurance services
h) IT equipment/services
i) Marketing/advertising/design services
j) Professional services
k) Supplies for our office
l) Training services
m) Travel services

We are taking the following steps to assess and manage any risk that our supply chain may use forced labour:

a) we expect our suppliers to comply with their obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to place similar expectations on their respective suppliers
b) we have undertaken an awareness exercise with staff to ensure they are informed of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, in order to help compliance. This includes an addition to the staff handbook.
c) we are developing wording to add in to all contracts with suppliers to ensure that they do/will:

i. comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015;
ii. declare that their business and, to the best of their knowledge, their own supply chain do not use forced labour
iii. impose equivalent obligations on their own suppliers;

d) we will review statements published by our suppliers on the use of forced labour (as they become available) to ensure that are taking what appears to us to be appropriate steps. We are also making enquiries directly with our current suppliers, which include equipment for in game use, to ensure they are aware and comply.
e) we are developing a policy and process to encourage openness and transparency amongst staff and suppliers in order to raise and report any concerns.

We have prepared this statement for the purposes of section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and it constitutes Premiership Rugby’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year 2018-19.
